Central Coordinator
The Central Coordinator is the member’s representative and is appointed as the main contact person for exchange (concerning EEX Membership) and ECC clearing related membership matters. Both ECC and EEX Central Coordinators can also appoint deputies.
The Central Coordinator (and any Deputy Central Coordinator) is responsible for the following matters:
- Responsibility for the internal distribution of all EEX, EEX AG and/or ECC AG information;
- Authorization to represent and make declarations on behalf of the member towards EEX, EEX AG and/or ECC AG in all exchange and clearing membership related matters; and
- Administrative access to the Member Section and the Customer Portal, and the user accounts therein.
How to become a Central Coordinator
A Central Coordinator is appointed during a member’s admission process. If you are an existing member and have not yet appointed a Central Coordinator, please fill in and sign the form below, and send it by email to memberreadiness@ecc.de.
On receiving your completed form, the Member Section Support Team (member.section@deutsche-boerse.com) will send you an email with your login credentials and detailed instructions on how to access the Member Section. From that point on Central Coordinators will be able to manage their own and their deputies' contact details directly in the Member Section. Note that EEX and ECC Central Coordinators have separate functions in the member section, but the same person can be appointed for both roles.
EEX and ECC Central Coordinators and deputies will also receive a Brainloop email with detailed instructions on how to access the Customer Portal. You do not need to request your Customer Portal access separately.

nEHS Admission Platform
Since 2021, EEX has taken the sale of fuel emission allowances in the national Emissions Trading Scheme (nEHS) by the German Federal Environment Agency.
All CO2-emitting fuels placed on the market, in particular petrol, diesel, heating oil, liquefied petroleum gas, natural gas, and coal are included in the nEHS. The obligated parties under the nEHS are those who place fuels on the market, for example natural gas suppliers or companies in the mineral oil industry.
nEHS Admission Platform offers
- Transparent and digital admission process
- Direct Interface to UBA (German Federal Environment Agency) to validate the registry account
- Choice of trading emission certificates directly via intermediaries
Pre-conditions and access
A trader license analogous to EUA (Emissions Unit Allowance) trading or other trading on EEX will not be required for participation in the sale during the fixed price phase.
Prior application and opening of an account in the national registry (nEHS registry), which is maintained at the German Emissions Trading Authority (DEHSt), is required for admission.
