Customers are advised to adopt the following security precautions and practices:
- Install anti-virus, anti-spyware and firewall software on their personal computers and mobile devices;
- Update operating systems, anti-virus and firewall products with security patches or newer versions on a regular basis;
- Use only software and devices where regular patches from its providers are available
- Use passwords that are sufficiently complex, do not share them nor use them for different systems
- Ensure secure methods on authentication for e.g. token or keys
- Remove file and printer sharing in computers, especially when they are connected to the internet;
- Make regular backup of critical data;
- Consider the use of encryption technology to protect highly sensitive or confidential information;
- Log off the online session;
- Do not install software or run programs of unknown origin;
- Delete junk or chain emails;
- Do not open email attachments from strangers;
- Do not disclose personal, financial or credit card information to little-known or suspect websites;
- Do not use a computer or a device which cannot be trusted; and
- Do not use public or internet café computers to access online services or perform financial transactions.
