I have been with ECC since 2014 and started working as a specialist in the Physical Settlement Department. Due to the dynamic development at ECC, I have had the opportunity to take on various challenges (including contract manager and application manager positions) and now have the pleasure of further advancing ECC in a management position with a team of 9 colleagues.
The focus on an important detailed topic of physical processing in the energy market has enthused and accompanied me throughout my entire working life. The cooperation with internal and external experts always shows new aspects and challenges. The upheaval in the energy market very much involves ECC, as the central counterparty in Europe. We also make our contribution to the energy turnaround and the restructuring of the energy industry. In this context, both the technical issues (ever shorter lead times for nominations, the need for a short time-to-market, increasing demands on system availability) and the contractual and procedural issues (design and conclusion of multilateral as well as bilateral contracts and processes) are very exciting topics.
ECC is an extremely interesting employer, that offers a deep insight into the function of a central counterparty (with the international and national characteristics of a bank), provides a European and international environment with partner exchanges, network operators, partner banks/clearing members and also with trading participants. Especially those who are interested in the energy market, who want to apply and further develop their knowledge in a broad way as well as who want to challenge themselves as a specialist in certain detailed topics, are very much in the right place at ECC.
I don’t know of another employer in Leipzig and the surrounding area, which offers such an exciting working environment, such an international focus with additional benefits (kindergarten allowance, meal vouchers, childcare, job ticket, etc.) – this is what makes ECC the best combination of everything.
