(1) Volume based clearing fee rebates for natural gas spot transactions
With effect from 1 September 2025, ECC will introduce volume-based rebates on the clearing fee for natural gas spot transactions.
If the cumulated monthly clearing volumes of a trading participant from all natural has spot transactions exceed 45 TWh, any clearing volumes exceeding 45 TWh for such trading participant in said month will be subject to a 25% rebate on the clearing fee.
If the cumulated monthly clearing volumes of a trading participant from all natural gas spot transactions exceed 50 TWh, any clearing volumes exceeding 50 TWh for such trading participant in said month will be subject to a 50% rebate on the clearing fee.
Spot volumes for which the trading participant is not charged any clearing fees (for example volumes in natural gas spot products which are subject to a fee waiver) will not be taken into account for the calculation of the thresholds.
(2) Changes to DCP model
With effect from 9 September, ECC will introduce a new membership category for DCP Clearing Members: DCP Natural Gas Market Plus.
The membership category DCP Natural Gas Markets Plus includes participating in clearing for the following markets:
- Natural gas spot markets (EEX)
- All markets included in the membership category DCP Discounted Markets Plus as defined in the ECC Price List
DCP Clearing Members in the membership category DCP Natural Gas Markets Plus solely participating in clearing of GBP natural gas spot markets which are denominated in GBP will be charged an annual fee of 11,000 GBP.
All other DCP Clearing Members in the category DCP Natural Gas Markets Plus will be charged an annual fee of 12,500 EUR.
(3) Suspension of Minimum Clearing Fee
In Clearing Circular 19/2025 ECC informed about the upcoming introduction of a Minimum Clearing Fee for clearing and settlement of each transaction.
ECC will suspend the introduction of the Minimum Clearing Fee until further notice.
