Target Picture
As announced in Clearing Circular 72, published on 18 December 2024, ECC will revise the expiry date logic for selected financially settled power contracts in delivery. This adjustment aims to simplify the current process, which requires a variation margin correction whenever the final settlement price is unavailable on the expiry date (e.g., when the Last Delivery Date falls on a Sunday). The change means a shift of the expiry date of affected contracts into the upcoming month. As a result, neither corrections to the final settlement price nor the application of Additional Margin Power (AMPO) will be required for these contracts any longer . The changed logic will be defined by the EEX and ECC Contract Detail Files, and corresponding contract specifications.
